Excellent Book
|
| Review Date: January 6, 2009 |

| This was the text used for the MBA foundation course in financial accounting and reporting I took in Fall Term 2008. Eason et al wrote a user friendly book that built on previous chapters and provided excellent examples. The exercises at the end of each chapter reinforced the concepts contained within the chapter. I found the book easy to read and useful for someone with no previous accounting background. I just wished the instructor ordered the student solutions manual for the text. I hope Amazon can get the solutions book so I can purchase it. I plan on keeping this textbook on the shelf to use again for future accounting courses. |
This is by far the BEST text for ENGINEERs pursuing an EMBA

| For all you Engineers considering an Executive MBA, this book was one of the best references in the program. Practical, loaded with great examples that help support the learning experience. "Accounting is not a spectator's sport", as one of my professors advised early in the E-MBA program. This book does not sit on my bookshelf, its on my desk. Gig'em. |

| Book arrived early and was in good condition. This book is lovely! Helps in understanding all a manager needs to know in the accounting world. |
Good text book for MBA students indeed!

This book was subscribed as text book on Financial Accounting course for my MBA program and helped me a lot to crack the course. Yes, this is not the book that teaches Accounting 101 but more a book for MBAs/future managers to help understand the all-that-is-needed stuff with great detail.
Book has many "aaha" moments that clearly explains with great samples the tricky accounting stuff (or, as my fellow techie MBAs used to say the - not-very-logical accounting concepts :-) ). It is one of the few, very few rather, that I read from front cover to back page as part of my MBA program and relished it to the fullest extent. If you are looking for practical examples and "smart" way to understand corporate accounting, just go for this. |
Horribly written, full of errors

| This text is horribly written, uses confusing, often contradictory examples and uses terms interchangably without explanation. There are also numerous errors throughout; try balancing when the book changes the amounts mid-problem. It would probably work for someone who is already versed in basic accounting, but if you are going to be teaching an introduction to accounting, look for another book. |
